We started the month out with a "Winter Wonderland" party, which was really a belated birthday party for James. For a family that's pretty low on motivation, we went oddly all-out for this one—we bought 80 yards of white tulle, if that gives you any sense of things. In his excitement, it appears James lost control of his icy magic and froze the kingdom—we awoke to a snowstorm, which in these parts is a once-a-year (if that) phenomenon. James and his guests all dressed in their princess best and we danced the morning away in the icy ballroom.
Later in the month we celebrated Ava's 7th birthday with a gymnastics party. Right now gymnastics is one of her favorite pastimes and at this point she can cartwheel like a Romanian four-year-old.
